PRP remains our main focus at Westcoastorthopedics these days. We wanted to share this interesting study from AAOs with you. It states not only that PRP can accelerate the healing process, it also shows that PRO treatment can be extremely helpful when it comes to healing fractures of long-bones that had not shown progressive evidence of healing in six months after the injury occurred.

It basically states that higher concentration of PRP helped patients with a variety of long-bone fractures. The results were astonishing. 55 of the 60 treated patients with fractures showed evidence of callus formation after eight weeks. By week 12, 40 of the 55 patients had bridging trabeculae, and the remaining 15 patients had fracture union by week 24.

This shows that a higher concentration of PRP injections does help the healing process significantly. Take a peak at the study. We posted the link on our Facebook page.
