Since 1994, WCSMF-Team To Win, a non-profit, 501 C3 charitable organization (Tax ID # 95-4497009) has focused on achieving health equity and eliminating disparities prevalent in the Los Angeles area. Understanding the need to invest in communities of color, WCSMF-Team To Win’s multifaceted foundation continues to provide FREE sports medicine care while also educating and uplifting the youth we serve. The program operates at no cost to schools and the student-athletes who participate in the Team to Win program.
We hope to continue to confront the racial, socio-economic, and health disparities that affect our youth by providing a space where health equity is achieved. We believe that every person has the opportunity to attain his or her full health potential and no one is disadvantaged from achieving this potential because of social position or other socially determined circumstances. Team To Win organizes sports medicine clinics where uninsured and underinsured student-athletes may receive FREE or discounted health care and wellness services.
This is achieved through the FREE programs that we provide TEAM TO WIN SCHOOLS at NO cost to school/student/family such as:
- $ 3.6 million dollars in FREE medical care to Team to Win student-athletes (over the last 4 years).
- FREE Sports Medicine Injury Clinic, FREE Concussion/Brain injury clinic.
- FREE on-site certified athletic trainers.
- FREE physician coverage for major sporting events.
- FREE Student Sports Medicine Mentoring Program, a year-round medical education program, including Summer mentoring camps and free CPR/AED and First Aid Certification.
- College scholarships annually to student-athletes showing extraordinary commitment to academics, sports, and community.
