Biologics and Stem Cell Therapy

Biologic therapies, also called orthobiologics, are a series of treatments designed to improve the symptoms of certain orthopedic conditions. It has the potential to improve the healing of musculoskeletal tissues without surgery.

Injuries, trauma or degeneration within a tendon, ligament, bone or muscle may have difficulty healing on its own.

Biologics & stem cell therapy California

Biologic therapies use the patient’s own cells or tissues to treat these conditions, which include:

  • Cartilage damage or injury
  • Degenerative disc disease
  • Fractures (broken bones that do not heal properly)
  • Intervertebral disc tears
  • Labral tears (hip and shoulder)
  • Ligament sprains or tears
  • Meniscus tears
  • Muscle strain injuries
  • Nerve inflammation
  • Partial tendon tears
  • Plantar fasciitis
  • Osteoarthritis and joint pain
  • Tendonitis and tendinosis

Biological therapies include cells or body tissues from the patient (or donated by someone else) which are then specially processed and concentrated into a solution that is injected into the patient. The injection produces a reaction that is believed to stimulate the body’s natural healing ability.
